When things go wrong with carpets, you need someone specialized in carpet cleaning service who is aware of what they are doing. There is a common misconception among the public that sucking up the water and leaving it to dry is an acceptable practice and this myth is wrong, very expensive, and dangerous. It is the worst thing for your carpet and other valuable contents and a potential hazard to your health.

Professional advice:

Electricity and water don’t mix, water creates slipping hazards, lifted carpet creates tripping hazards and a contaminated or moldy carpet can make you very sick.

This correct procedure is more expensive than the myth people often believe of sucking and letting the water dry, and clients are tempted by this cheap option. Unfortunately, this will eventually permanently damage your carpet and the results are not always immediately apparent. Furthermore, bacteria, mold, and other microbes grow in the humid underlay and subfloor causing a nasty smell and a health hazard if left unchecked. In most cases, this sets in just after you think you succeeded with the cheap option.

These problems can be avoided when the job is done in a timely manner. By hiring drying equipment including dehumidifiers and air movers over 3 to 4 days and several hours of labor etc, the bill can be huge as per room affected. So we always recommend our clients to have good building insurance. Building insurance is inexpensive and many times covers you for the damage the water can do such as the damage to your ceiling, walls, and other belongings. This huge damage is common when a pipe bursts into your roof. We are not insurance professionals so please seek the advice of an insurance professional before making any decisions.

Hope this never happens to you, but if it does, please don't give in to the "suck and dry" strategy we are just a call away. Book an appointment with us for professional assistance
